How to Wire an On/Off Switch for an Auto Cool Fan
At times, your cooling fan stops working because a sensor has gone bad, but the fan works just fine. A way to get around this situation is to wire in an on and off switch. This switch works by eliminating the ground connection when it is switched "off" and reconnecting the ground when it is "on". The process of wiring this switch is relatively easy. You just need to know the correct steps. Locate a convenient pace to mount the switch. A good place is somewhere out of the way but still within reach. Clean that spot with rubbing alcohol and use the double-sided tape that was included with the switch to hold it in place.
First off you're gonna need a car. So today we are working on my old Buick Skylark. Since my engine is not stock Riviera cubic inch big block the cooling fan previously that was installed is just not enough to cool it down. So we have bought a Ford Taurus 2-speed fan, this fan had rumored to cool down the biggest and some of the toughest blocks around! So today we are going to do the wiring part of the fan! This will take around 45 min to do or maybe less if you have some experience with cars and electricity work! Did you use this instructable in your classroom?
